Muffin batter can be cooked in waffle irons.

You'd probably want to avoid recipes that have large lumps or solid bits.  For example, for something like carrot muffins with walnut pieces, the nuts should be well-chopped.

ETA: "Muffles"?  "Waffins"?

My daughters really enjoyed a recipe where they fill muffin tins with various veggies and cheese, and then pour an egg/milk mixture into the cups. Omlettes? Muffins? They call them "Mufflettes", and I can't help but think the name sounds vaguely naughty, but it has certainly stuck...
