RIP Irene Brownstein
Sep. 5th, 2013 03:09 pmA number of my friends are from high school, so this may be of interest to some: science teacher Irene Brownstein passed away in late August — the obituary is here. There will be a memorial gathering on Saturday, September 7th at 1:30pm, at 315 McLeod St., i.e. the Hulse, Playfair & McGarry funeral home.
I had Mrs. Brownstein for grade 13 chemistry, and enjoyed the class a lot; she encouraged my interest in the subject, and I found later that she'd prepared me very well for a career in the field. She was a really nice teacher.
