Yes. I finally managed to find the "candy sequins" that I was looking for at the local Loeb store -- I'd checked the cake-decorating supplies at all the other local stores but forgot to check them. All the stores carry decorating products made by the same manufacturer, but there are some differences in which items they carry. Even the local cake-decorating store didn't have the sequins.
The bottle that I bought was exorbitantly priced for the value of the contents, like spices bought in little bottles instead of in bulk. But considering the number of sequins in a bottle, that bottle should last beyond any plausible number of googly eyes I'm likely to want to make for the rest of my life.
I'm glad I found them; the other options were looking more and more painful to use in terms of labour and effectiveness. I tried rice paper with a hole puncher; it mostly just shattered. Fruit leather probably would have gummed up the hole puncher.
I noticed yesterday that the Your Independent Grocer store sells "two-bite cupcakes" that are decorated with the candy sequins!
