More spinal surgery

I'm currently in hospital waiting for more spinal surgery.  I was biking to see my sweetie face-to-face for the first time in two weeks, as she's been in a retirement home's mandatory quarantine time -- convalescent care for her, caregiver respite for me.  On the way, I got hit by a car.  This is ridiculous.

I have not yet reviewed the video recording from my bike helmet: 4K, 60fps.  I gather that I was hit from behind, but I have no memory of that part of the event.  But the video should show my bike's position and orientation, and that I was signalling properly, etc.  The camera is here with me, but it's out of charge and I don't have a compatible cable here.

Owwww. At least you're in good enough shape to tell us coherently about it. Don't stress about it right away, but I hope the camera shows what happened and that whoever deserves to be held responsible is.

Dammit, our communities of fandom and pro-dom and in-between are taking serious hits. We lost Sue Marsden (Ottawa Comic Jam organizer) and Jim Cleland (animator and fellow OSFSer) two weeks ago, and you have to suffer this at the moment!

Ouch! Sorry to hear about your getting hit. On this side of the border there has been plenty of evidence driving behavior is much worse since the pandemic. Whether it's people driving stressed, or people deciding they can treat the emptier roads as a motor speedway I don't know. Anyway, hope the surgery and recovery go well and they can catch the schmuck.
