From the CBC: "Bell Canada Inc. is not breaking any laws by slowing internet speeds and will be allowed to continue throttling its customers, the CRTC has ruled."
Yeah, Bell's treatment of its customers has been pretty poor. I didn't know they were being that violent. My problems have generally been limited to always having my service questions routed to illiterate idiots in India.

Date: 2008-11-20 07:46 pm (UTC)My experience has been that it took SEVEN (count em- seven!) repair techs to finally figure out why my phone line was shorting out every time it rained. The drop to my house was rubbing against the garage roof and had got damaged. But it wasn't until they finally sent a high-powered tech out who knew how to replace cables (as opposed to just checking the house interface and changing lines on the pole box) that he figured out the problem. I think it took him 10 minutes to figure it out, and another half hour to fix it. The amount of wasted time on all the other calls (and my loss of phone service for days at a time) was immense.
