Was it merely a coincidence that ARPANET, the precursor of the internet, was brought on-line on the tenth anniversary of the first publication of Astérix?
Yesterday was the 50th anniversary of the first publication of Astérix, and the 40th of the startup of ARPANET (which then crashed on the third character transmitted). The image shown on Google's main page yesterday had Astérix and Obélix thumping a Roman soldier.
