Swimming

The surgeon has told me that I'm ready to start swimming again.  My mobility is getting better: today I walked down to the south end of Merivale Mall at a good pace without any real problems (though I had a bit of a lie-down when I got back).

So I'm planning to start regular swimming again, most usually in the pool in my Dad's apartment building.  (Salt-water chlorination means that the water isn't irritating; the temperature is pretty steady around 28'C.)  I'd welcome swimming partners.  The building is pretty easy to get to, on Parkdale just north of Scott, a block away from the Tunney's Pasture transit station.

I'm tentatively thinking about going on Thursday or Friday afternoon, if anyone's interested in joining me.

Good to hear. I doubt I'll be able to join in for the swimming, but I still want to drop into the neighbourhood for a meet.

Trying to recall if I'd already asked you about a street named "Family Brown"...?

I don't recall your mentioning it, but it's near me. I think it's likely to have been named after the musical group, though I've never bothered to investigate.

That's what I remember from the street atlas research, and no more than that. I'm guessing that they've had a history in Nepean in particular. Something to look into.

I only remember "Family Brown Lane" as a stop for northbound buses on Merivale Rd (just after Merivale Mall).

If you take route 111 to Bunsen's house, get off at Merivale & Family Brown (just south of Meadowlands). Walking through parking lots is a shortcut to his house.

I haven't done swimming for a while, but I may consider coming out later.

Right now, I have to get rid of a head cold and sinus problem, which my new roommate so thoughtfully gave to me. :-)
