Mr. Popper's Penguins was one of my favourite books when I was young.  It was still fun when I reread it a few months ago.

I see that a movie adaptation, with Jim Carrey, is about to be released.  From the description, I'm not optimistic about my enjoying it.

I remember that book. I think I managed to find a copy for my kids. I wonder what became of it...

A film version starring Jim Carrey? It'll be crap, updated for a modern audience, with no clue what a vaudeville show was, much less any clue about travelling on a steam train, or Antarctic exploration, and with none of the charm of the original.

One a side note, anyone know where I can find a copy of 'The Sugar Mouse Cake'?
