I've recently been reminded about a book that I remember reading several times, borrowed from the library, when I was young: The Big Joke Game by Scott Corbett.  Now I'd like to read it again, and the Ottawa library doesn't have it and it's long out of print; used copies are quite expensive.  Do any of you happen to have a copy of it?

I do have a few of his Trick books (like The Lemonade Trick) but none of his stand-alones.

I feel rather proud that I recognized the author immediately and had him on my shelf. Wish I could have been the one to magically produce the book with a flourish for you. :(

Did you try an online library search for it? If the library has it, I could pick it up for you.

It isn't anywhere in the Ottawa library system. (One of the very few positive things to come out of the municipal amalgamation was that the central library system is able to access the books in all of the libraries in the region.) If it had been, I'd have been able to have it sent to my local branch -- that's something I do regularly.

Try inter-library loan. There's probably a small library somewhere in rural Ontario that has it. If it's within Ontario, the most you have to pay is $2.

Thanks for the suggestion; I've filed the request.

I guess I'll add that book to the list of books to watch for at second-hand stores.
